About the role#
This internship provides practical work experience and insight into the health insurance industry. You will work on projects that support organizational efficiency and help identify business solutions. The program includes opportunities to network with leaders, participate in department events, and engage in community outreach.
What you'll do#
- Conduct a deep-dive investigation into how supplemental data impacts HEDIS performance.
- Analyze overall plan performance on HEDIS measures.
- Determine the source of numerator hits and analyze methods of data submission.
- Examine provider organizations that are successful in closing gaps with QMI data.
- Assist in preparing research materials to identify business problems and offer recommendations.
- Support leaders on projects to improve organizational efficiency.
- Develop a working knowledge of business products, programs, and data controls.
- Analyze business goals and objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate, graduate, Master’s, or PhD program with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Academic background in Data Science or Health Information Management is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of Excel, Access Database, and SQL Server.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and build professional working relationships.
