About the role#
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is seeking a Cyber Intern for the summer of 2027. This role provides hands-on experience in enterprise security, cloud infrastructure, and operational tasks. You will work within a collaborative environment to support security teams and complete a capstone project.
What you'll do#
- Monitor security alerts, investigate potential threats, and support incident response efforts using industry tools.
- Gain exposure to automation platforms and access management systems.
- Complete training modules including SOC Core Skills and Sentinel KQL.
- Participate in immersive labs and real-world simulations.
- Collaborate with teams across Security Engineering, Application Security, and Access Management.
- Complete a capstone project focused on areas like improving alert fidelity or automating infrastructure tasks.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A strong interest in enterprise security and infrastructure.
- Intellectual curiosity and a drive to learn.
- Experience or interest in security operations, cloud infrastructure, identity management, or performance engineering.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The term runs from Wednesday, May 26, 2027, through Friday, July 30, 2027.
- The role follows a hybrid work schedule based in Omaha, Nebraska. You must live within commuting distance of the office in Aksarben Village.
