About the role#
As a Communications Intern, you will work with our team to write and edit materials that support internal communications and media relations. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to ongoing programs and assisting with special events. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit various communication pieces, such as intranet and newsroom content, press releases, social media posts, posters, scripts, and brochures.
- Collaborate with communications staff to coordinate programs and projects.
- Assist with the planning and execution of special events.
- Maintain positive relationships with team members while meeting attendance and timeliness expectations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Journalism, English, Advertising, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Business.
- Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and a focus on meeting deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of AP Style.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Omaha, Nebraska, at our office in Aksarben Village.
- The role follows a hybrid work schedule requiring on-site presence.
- You must live within commuting distance to fulfill the internship dates from Wednesday, May 26, 2027, through Friday, July 30, 2027.
