About the role#
The Strategic Asset Allocation team at BCI provides research and analytics support to help clients manage their investment strategies. You will join the Investment Strategy and Risk department for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. This role focuses on portfolio construction, economic analysis, and supporting the long-term goals of BCI clients.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of asset-liability management studies and investment policy recommendations.
- Assist with updating long-term capital market assumptions, economic scenarios, and simulations.
- Help manage the BCI product shelf to ensure a client-focused rationale for pooled funds.
- Create written materials and presentations to assist with client education and meeting preparation.
- Coordinate client meetings and develop supporting documentation.
- Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team.
- Ensure BCI meets and exceeds client service expectations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a program related to Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Fundamental knowledge of business and investment disciplines.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally.
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with PowerBI is preferred.
- Ability to meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
- Commitment to high ethical standards and an eagerness to learn.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based in Victoria, British Columbia.
- The role operates on a hybrid schedule, with the expectation of working in the office and the option to work from home one day per week.
