About the role#
BCI is seeking interns to join the Private Debt team within the Capital Markets & Credit Investments department. You will support credit investment strategies, including senior and subordinated debt across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. This position provides exposure to institutional investment processes and the development of BCI's Principal Credit Fund.
What you'll do#
- Work under the supervision of the Private Debt team on various investment projects.
- Support the due diligence process for prospective investments.
- Assist in executing new investment opportunities by creating financial models and written reports.
- Monitor existing portfolio investments and identify relevant risks.
- Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student status in Business (Finance or Accounting) or Economics.
- Fundamental knowledge of finance, accounting, and investment-related disciplines.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Passion for investing and interest in credit markets.
- Experience in financial modeling, Bloomberg, or S&P Capital IQ is an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Victoria, British Columbia.
- Terms: Winter 2027 (January to April) or Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Modality: On-site in Victoria with the option to work from home one day per week.
- Compensation: $2,745.00 gross bi-weekly plus 6% vacation pay.
