About the role#
BCI is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer for a co-op or internship during the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will join a team of 8 professionals within the Technology department to support DevSecOps initiatives. This role involves building CI/CD pipelines, developing workflow automations, and working with low-code tools. You will gain experience in an emerging area of technology while working at one of Canada's largest institutional investors.
What you'll do#
- Work under the supervision of the DevSecOps Manager on various technical projects.
- Create automation flows and productivity apps using the Power Platform.
- Implement deployment pipelines with a focus on automation.
- Champion CI/CD practices and automated testing of code.
- Document onboarding processes and improve existing team practice documentation.
- Research software and tools to help advance DevSecOps at BCI.
- Survey existing deployment practices to identify opportunities for streamlining and automation.
- Perform low-code development for small to medium-sized tasks.
- Complete ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Fundamental knowledge of business and investment-related disciplines.
- Strong research skills with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Dedication to hard work and the highest ethical standards.
- An interest in investment management and an eagerness to learn.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg is an asset.

- Location: Victoria, British Columbia.
- Modality: This position is on-site with the option to work one day per week from home.
- Term: Winter and Summer 2027 (January to August).
- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
- Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
