About the role#
Barr Engineering Co. is seeking a civil engineering intern for our Jefferson City office. This internship runs for approximately three months during the summer of 2027. You will join our Engineering and Design business unit to support project teams on technical assignments. This is a full-time, paid position with a hybrid work arrangement.
What you'll do#
- Complete site development designs.
- Perform civil design and analysis.
- Prepare construction plans and specifications.
- Conduct field sampling and data collection.
- Perform laboratory testing and construction inspection.
- Prepare spreadsheets and short reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to meet project objectives.
What you'll need#
- Ongoing enrollment in a civil engineering or related degree program.
- At least two semesters of physics and three semesters of mathematics completed.
- At least one full-time semester of coursework remaining after the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- A current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work in locations with rough terrain, moving machinery, and industrial conditions.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
