About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering department with projects focused on power production, power delivery operations, and transmission facilities. You will work alongside staff to assist in daily duties, process mapping, and procurement tasks. This role involves both office-based data analysis and field work at various facilities.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, model, and assemble data using computer-based systems to support our members.
- Review and organize technical documents to meet division records management standards.
- Help with procurement and contracting for equipment, materials, or construction labor.
- Perform field work at various company facilities, which may involve working in challenging weather conditions during plant testing.
- Assist engineering staff with their daily responsibilities.
- Monitor and incorporate changes to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and general technological proficiency.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
