About the role#
As a Materials Innovation Co-Op Student, you will support the Advanced Concepts materials team. You will lead specific research topics and explore new areas of study. Your work will inform future projects through research, data analysis, and material sampling. You will also spend time in the laboratory testing new solutions and technologies. This role involves presenting your findings to the broader team and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
What you'll do#
- Lead research projects including scouting, background research, and collaborating with external partners.
- Review and write test methods while summarizing technical information for stakeholders.
- Conduct laboratory testing, including sample preparation, data analysis, and method development.
- Present research findings to the Advanced Concepts team and partners.
- Manage materials, including shipping, receiving, and organizing inventory.
- Partner with Merchandising, Design, Product Creation, Raw Materials Development, and Supply Chain teams.
What you'll need#
- Senior undergraduate status in Materials Science, Textiles, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Current enrollment in or entry into a Master’s or PhD program is preferred.
- Experience with laboratory and mechanical testing, including operating associated instrumentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and data analysis software.
- Ability to interpret data and identify the root cause of technical issues.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to balance independent work and team collaboration.
- Flexibility and adaptability in ambiguous situations.
Location & details#
- Location: North Vancouver, British Columbia.
- Term: Eight months, from January 4, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Commitment: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Work Modality: Hybrid and on-site.
- Compensation: $44,700 - $58,200 CAD, based on year of study and experience.
