About the role#
PCL Construction is hiring an HSE Student for our North American Headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta. This position reports to the Director, HSE Programs and is available for a 4 to 12 month term starting in January 2027. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, implementation, and improvement of HSE programs, procedures, and resources.
- Conduct research, analysis, and project work for Corporate HSE initiatives.
- Assist with change management, communications, and the rollout of new HSE programs.
- Coordinate stakeholder reviews and maintain HSE documentation and records.
- Collect and analyze HSE data to support decision-making.
- Visit field, campus, and workplace sites to learn about HSE requirements.
- Participate in workplace inspections, hazard identification, incident management, and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate with Corporate HSE, Resources, and Facilities teams to implement safety improvements.
- Assist with Joint Work Site Health and Safety Committee activities, including meeting prep and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Foundational knowledge of HSE principles, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Initiative and a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.
