About the role#
The Physics Department is hiring a student assistant to help with daily operations and outreach. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant to keep the office running efficiently. This is a part-time position that offers exposure to both administrative tasks and active research environments.
What you'll do#
- Provide front desk coverage and manage office organization.
- Organize lab supplies and assist with department advertising.
- Support event management for the department.
- Help improve department operations and outreach efforts.
- Assist with laboratory research projects, including work in the Gravitational and Thermal Noise Lab, based on your qualifications and interests.
What you'll need#
- You must be an enrolled student at American University to be eligible for this role.
- An interest in Physics is expected as you will be working directly with department research projects.

- This role is located on the American University campus in Washington, DC.
- The position is part-time with an expected schedule of 5 hours per week.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
