About the role#
The Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) function at American Express is responsible for global risk decisions that drive growth and operational excellence. The Risk Products team brings these strategies to life by creating customer-focused capabilities for card and non-card products. As an intern, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners in marketing, finance, technology, and legal teams to build analytical solutions that minimize risk and improve the customer experience.
What you'll do#
- Define product vision, create and execute product roadmaps, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Support the development of next-generation software products and risk management solutions using modern tools.
- Coordinate calls with cross-functional teams to define product features, user stories, and business requirements.
- Host daily stand-up meetings with technology partners to resolve development issues.
- Analyze data to assess product performance and make data-driven decisions regarding future states.
- Create presentations, product requirement documentation, and status updates for leadership.
- Tackle high-impact projects such as identifying reusable components within the risk ecosystem and optimizing core product delivery processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in analytical and presentation tools, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Demonstrated interest in digital technologies and customer-driven design.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and share fresh perspectives.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without company-provided visa sponsorship.
