About the role#
This summer internship program offers students exposure to the Finance organization at American Express. Interns will work within one of several functional areas, including Corporate Planning and Analysis, Global Commercial Services Finance, US Consumer Services Finance, Global Merchant and Network Finance, Controllership, or Global Treasury. You will be assigned a project focused on solving a real business challenge for the organization.
What you'll do#
- Provide analysis and decision support to the Finance organization.
- Gather and analyze information from diverse sources to identify trends and explain their impact on the business.
- Learn to articulate financial decisions clearly to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of business needs.
- Hone analytical acumen and communication skills by tailoring complex messages to specific audiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time bachelor’s degree program with a graduation date between December 2028 and June 2029.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data to generate insights and recommendations.
- Strategic thought leadership and creativity in synthesizing data into clear narratives.
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build trust-based relationships.
- Academic background in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Programming skills are considered a plus.
