About the role#
The Global Merchant & Network Pricing team manages merchant discount revenue, which is a primary revenue source for American Express. As an intern, you will provide analytical support for strategic merchant pricing initiatives. You will work alongside stakeholders in the Pricing and Client Management organizations to support high-profile projects that impact the business.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of pricing approaches and constructs using quantitative data analysis.
- Leverage internal and external data, competitive intelligence, and industry research to inform pricing strategies.
- Evaluate business cases for merchant pricing scenarios, model P&L impacts, and perform sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners in the Client Management organization to achieve business goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time bachelor’s degree program, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Academic focus in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- Proficiency with Excel and MS Office products.
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to develop financial models and derive insights from data.
- Experience with SAS or SQL is considered a plus.
- Ability to work in the United States without company-sponsored visa support.
