About the role#
The Enterprise Technology Services team supports the technology, digital, and data capabilities that power American Express. As a Data Analytics intern, you will work at the intersection of technology, finance, and portfolio management. You will help teams understand performance, financial trends, and operational outcomes through data. This role is for students who enjoy solving complex problems and learning how analytics support technology decisions.
What you'll do#
- Collect, clean, validate, and organize data from project, financial, and technology delivery sources.
- Analyze portfolio performance, budget, resource, and risk information to identify trends and insights.
- Create and maintain dashboards, key performance indicators, and leadership summaries.
- Develop financial models, cost views, and scenario analyses to support project decision making.
- Prepare presentations and narratives that communicate data-backed insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or Economics earned before the start date.
- Foundational knowledge of data analytics, including collection, validation, visualization, and insight generation.
- Understanding of financial management principles such as budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Awareness of Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodology.
- Foundational understanding of Generative AI concepts, including appropriate use and human validation of outputs.
