About the role#
This internship program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work within the Controllership function of the American Express Finance organization. Interns are assigned a project focused on solving a real business challenge, providing exposure to financial expertise, complex analytics, and the risk environment. This is a paid, full-time summer 2027 position.
What you'll do#
- Provide analysis and decision support to the Finance organization.
- Gather and analyze information from various sources to identify trends and their business impact.
- Learn to articulate decisions clearly to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of business needs and operations.
- Participate in initiatives and support the Controllership organization as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time bachelor’s degree program, specifically in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
- A graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data to generate insights.
- Strong work ethic and a self-motivated approach to tasks.
- Ability to build trust-based relationships with team members and business partners.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not provided.
