About the role#
The Investment Risk Management team ensures the company remains financially sound by managing credit, market, and liquidity risks. As an intern, you will work on real-world projects that impact investment decisions and financial forecasting. You will join a team that collaborates with portfolio managers and investment strategy groups to build and refine financial models.
What you'll do#
- Revisit and improve the existing recession forecasting model.
- Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.
- Write clean, efficient Python code to implement and optimize machine learning models.
- Conduct testing and validation to ensure model reliability.
- Create reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Maintain documentation for your code, methodologies, and results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with libraries like scikit-learn and LightGBM.
- Strong understanding of predictive machine learning models and evaluation techniques.
- Experience with SQL and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Term: Fall 2026, starting in October 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site and hybrid options available.
- Employment Type: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Paid internship with a pay range of $16.50 to $30.00 per hour, based on academic tenure and major.
