About the role#
The FamilySearch Library is hiring for a one-year internship focused on United States and Canada research. This is a part-time position, capped at 28 hours per week. You will work directly with library guests to provide research assistance and support the broader team. The role includes professional development and requires in-person work in Salt Lake City, including some evening and Saturday shifts.
What you'll do#
- Help library guests with their research needs.
- Coordinate with your team to provide genealogical support for the US and Canada regions.
- Complete training to serve library patrons effectively.
- Participate in team projects, including tree-building tasks.
- Assist in the training of missionaries.
What you'll need#
- Current student status or graduation within the past year.
- Membership in the Church and a current temple recommend.
- Basic genealogical research skills for the US and Canada.
- High computer proficiency, including internet research and Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of FamilySearch products such as the Catalog, Wiki, and Family Tree.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present and teach information clearly.
