About the role#
The YA Weekly Design Intern participates in the ideation, design, and production of articles for Church print and digital magazines. You will also create social media content for a young adult audience. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship lasting four months during the Winter 2027 term. You will work under mentorship to observe, collaborate, visualize, and implement design projects. Medical benefits are provided.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the design and production of magazine articles.
- Create social media posts and graphics for young adults.
- Edit short-form video content.
- Collaborate with team members on art direction and conceptualization.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited college or university, or a degree completed within the last year.
- A major in graphic design or advertising, or relevant coursework.
- At least one year of college-level graphic design experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Excellence in editorial design, visual communication, and print production.
- A basic understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy.
- Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
- Ability to sustain concentration for long periods and pay close attention to detail.
- A willingness to listen and learn from peers.
Location & details#
This position is based at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role is on-site with the possibility of a hybrid schedule depending on arrangements made with hiring staff.
