About the role#
New York Life is seeking an intern for the Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) team in Philadelphia. This role focuses on service operations, strategy, and planning. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting strategic initiatives, analyzing business data, and participating in projects that impact client and customer service functions.
What you'll do#
- Support strategic initiatives for client and customer facing functions.
- Design and implement tools for career progression.
- Measure the value of work by assessing benefit, risk, and cost, including capacity.
- Develop and enhance Excel-based staffing models.
- Maintain core department documentation, including presentations, marketing materials, and communications.
- Provide insights on balancing onsite work with virtual collaboration.
- Analyze call data to identify trends and insights.
- Streamline employee time management and resource allocation.
- Enhance processes for tracking projects within Service Operations.
- Assist with AI use cases and custom GPT support.
- Analyze quality and risk data to create actionable insights and build a Key Risk Indicator dashboard.
What you'll need#
- Rising junior or senior status at an accredited 4-year university or college.
- Pursuing a degree in General Business or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Interest in service, project management, process engineering, change management, business leadership, technology projects, or strategic management.
- Experience in leadership roles or campus and community extracurricular activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative under pressure.
