About the role#
New York Life Group Benefit Solutions is seeking a Sales Summer Intern for a 10-week program. This role provides hands-on exposure to Sales and Account Management. You will work with Sales Representatives and Account Executives to support business development, build client and broker relationships, and contribute to the local sales office. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to help you develop business acumen and gain experience across functions that support the sales process.
What you'll do#
- Support Field Sales and Account Management teams while learning how broker and client relationships are maintained.
- Learn the NYL GBS product portfolio.
- Collaborate with partners in Sales, Account Management, Underwriting, Marketing, and Operations.
- Use business platforms and technology tools such as Salesforce, BenefitFlow, Tableau, and generative AI to organize information and analyze data.
- Participate in mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities.
- Work with fellow interns on a capstone project and present recommendations to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Rising senior status pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Interest in client-facing work and a goal-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated interest in Sales, Account Management, or Employee Benefits.
- Ability to organize and present information clearly.
