About the role#
The IT Security Analyst Intern supports our information security operations and project work. You will bridge the gap between our security team and business units to identify, track, and reduce risks. This role involves working across our retail stores, distribution centers, and home office to protect systems and data. You will gain hands-on experience with threat monitoring, security project lifecycles, and risk management.
What you'll do#
- Assist with projects focused on risk reduction, threat detection, and process improvement.
- Analyze data and report on security metrics to identify trends.
- Monitor security alerts and logs to help detect potential incidents.
- Support vulnerability management by scanning and tracking remediation progress.
- Maintain and test security controls across all company environments.
- Help run security awareness initiatives like phishing simulations.
- Document project tasks, security procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Assist with access management reviews and identity audits.
- Provide user-focused support on security questions and best practices.
- Manage special projects as directed by security leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's program, or recent graduation.
- Preferred fields of study include Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Computer Science.
- A strong interest in project-based security work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- A calm, customer-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- A basic understanding of information security fundamentals.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different teams.
- Exposure to security tools or coursework is a plus.
