About the role#
The Design & Production Intern supports the creative process, production workflow, and build preparation for mall activations, pop-up shops, and in-store decorative installations. You will work with the creative team to develop immersive environments and display elements. This role provides direct experience in concepting, layout planning, fabrication, and prototyping.
What you'll do#
- Develop concepts, sketches, mood boards, and visual layouts.
- Create production-ready files such as technical drawings, cut files, floor plans, and build assets.
- Perform hands-on fabrication tasks including material preparation and the operation of CNC machines.
- Prototype structural components and decorative elements to test scale, finish, and functionality.
- Assist with assembly, quality checks, and pre-install preparation for displays.
- Research materials, fabrication methods, and design trends.
- Manage project documentation, digital files, and material inventories.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior, senior, or recent graduate in Industrial Design, Architecture, Set Design, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with 3-D modeling software such as Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Blender.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and digital fabrication principles.
- Basic knowledge of CNC machining and other fabrication methods.
- Strong visualization skills and a solid grasp of design principles.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and an interest in learning new workflows.
