About the role#
Aecon is looking for a Project Coordinator Co-op student to join our major projects division. You will work on heavy civil infrastructure, assisting with data analysis, project tracking, and technical support for field staff. This is an opportunity to contribute to significant projects from early planning through to completion.
What you'll do#
- Track project productivity, costs, and overall progress.
- Perform quantity take-offs from construction drawings.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of as-built and design drawings.
- Gather field information to help prepare project bills of materials.
- Provide data for month-end reconciliation and job cost reports.
- Maintain project files and correspondence.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal departments.
- Provide technical support to field staff and assist with construction estimates.
- Complete other administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university or technical college program for Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a large team and under minimum supervision.
- A service-oriented mindset and the ability to adapt to flexible schedules to meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is an asset.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
