About the role#
This is a part-time Sonographer Extern position at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in a sonography program to gain hands-on clinical experience. The schedule is variable and based on your academic commitments and department needs.
What you'll do#
- Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general or vascular procedures.
- Review medical records to obtain patient history and physician orders.
- Position patients and select the proper transducer for accurate imaging.
- Differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Identify and label images with patient information.
- Maintain records and enter data into the radiology information system.
- Communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
- Adapt procedures based on cognitive sonographic skills and patient needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited or approved Sonography program.
- Completion of at least 12 months of training in an accredited program.
- Clinical competency in abdominal, pelvic, and routine vascular exams.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like standing, walking, and bending throughout the day.

- Pay Range: $21.85 - $32.80 per hour.
