About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern on the Enterprise Systems team, you will manage the operational systems that power manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and field deployment. You will work within the Application Software organization to support the infrastructure used by technicians and planners. This role involves direct collaboration with hardware and operations teams to design and deploy services where system accuracy is necessary for safety and aircraft throughput.
What you'll do#
- Drive core product domains including Manufacturing Execution, Supply Chain, Finance, Parts Traceability, and Inventory.
- Stabilize essential services to 99.9% uptime.
- Define APIs, data models, and service boundaries while prioritizing observability.
- Build resilient integrations between digital services and physical hardware tooling.
- Mentor peers and refine CI/CD and automated testing practices.
- Work on the shop floor with manufacturing, supply chain, and flight ops teams to prototype workflows.
What you'll need#
- Completed second year of undergraduate studies in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Product-minded engineering approach with a focus on user needs and technical simplicity.
- Strong technical fundamentals in system design and data modeling.
- Experience with a modern technology stack, such as Python, Go, PostgreSQL, React, Kafka, gRPC, AWS, Grafana, and Honeycomb.
- A focus on operational excellence, including service health metrics and reliability goals.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term for this position is Winter 2027 (January to April).
- This position is paid at a rate of $54 per hour.
- This role requires regular on-site presence at our engineering or operations hubs, including the manufacturing floor or test sites.
