About the role#
As a Quality & Manufacturing Intern, you will join the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Quality Engineering teams. You will contribute to the production of Zipline's autonomous logistics systems. This role involves working on assembly lines, equipment design, and quality assurance to ensure our products perform reliably in the field.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, budgeting, design, procurement, commissioning, and validation of assembly lines.
- Develop and maintain process documentation throughout the program lifecycle.
- Design fixtures for assembly and inspection and propose automation strategies.
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and Fish bone diagrams to address production issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the monitoring of manufacturing performance metrics and quality control standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with a preference for NX.
- Understanding of traditional and non-traditional manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that changes often.
