About the role#
As an Embedded Firmware intern on the Long Range Platform Engineering team, you will contribute to the software that powers our autonomous vehicles and ground systems. You will take ownership of a scoped project, working from initial requirements through to validation. This role involves close collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to improve the safety, reliability, and performance of our hardware.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and test embedded software for vehicles, batteries, chargers, and ground systems.
- Work hands-on with hardware in the lab to understand how software interacts with sensors and power electronics.
- Investigate unexpected behavior using logs and test equipment to develop reliable fixes.
- Build automated tests to catch regressions and ensure system safety.
- Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team discussions.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with embedded platforms such as ESP32, STM, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Unix.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to apply engineering fundamentals to open-ended problems.
- A willingness to learn quickly and collaborate in a hands-on development environment.
