About the role#
The Ground Systems Deployment and Construction team designs and builds the infrastructure that powers our drone delivery network. We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to support the design and deployment of these systems. You will gain hands-on experience with commercial and light industrial electrical distribution while working alongside experienced engineers. This role involves utility coordination, site-level design, and technical documentation. You will contribute to real-world projects and help refine our engineering processes.
What you'll do#
- Support research, drafting, and documentation for electrical distribution and structure-level wiring designs.
- Design electrical distribution for commercial and light industrial ground system projects.
- Develop next generation charging structure wiring and installation approaches.
- Assist with UL and TUV certification efforts by preparing technical materials and coordinating with partners.
- Select vendors to ensure reliable, quality services and products.
- Implement feedback from deployment and construction teams to improve design efficiency.
- Document project risks and communicate across teams.
- Participate in site visits for field observations and support.
- Create documentation to ensure quality and process refinement.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering.
- Master's and PhD students are eligible to apply.
- Relevant coursework in circuits, power systems, or construction.
- Familiarity with CAD, ECAD, electrical modeling, or basic simulation software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and speech.
- Curiosity and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Comfort with hands-on work and openness to occasional travel.

- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term runs during Summer 2027, from May or June through August or September.
- This position is paid.
