About the role#
The Regulatory Intern position supports the Regulatory Administration team on policy, cost recovery, and rulemaking proceedings. This role helps ensure Public Utilities Commission approval and positive outcomes for the company and its customers. Interns manage or support assigned cases and contribute to projects that meet specific policy or cost recovery objectives. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 with the potential to extend beyond the initial term.
What you'll do#
- Manage or support assigned cases and meet milestones accurately.
- Research regulatory issues and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Report progress on milestones to management.
- Create high-level process maps for case management.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Work cross-functionally with business partners across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or higher at an accredited college or university as of Fall 2027.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, English, Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, or Environmental studies.
- Ability to work full-time (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer and part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the school year.
- Ability to commute to the office in Denver for hybrid, on-site work.
- Preferred experience or coursework in research, writing, finance, or project management.
- Preferred familiarity with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
Location & details#
- Location: Denver, Colorado.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-month commitment requested).
- Compensation: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and holidays.
