About the role#
The Innovation and Transformation Office at Xcel Energy is seeking four interns to join the centralized Change Management Office for the Summer 2027 term. This role supports the people side of enterprise, technology, and organizational changes. You will contribute to capability building, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis to help increase successful project outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Support change management activities for projects impacting employees, leaders, and business units.
- Assist with stakeholder analysis, communication planning, leader engagement, and change readiness efforts.
- Organize and analyze data, survey feedback, and project information to identify themes, risks, and opportunities.
- Create executive-ready deliverables including summaries, presentations, dashboards, and project updates.
- Contribute to capability-building efforts for leaders and sponsors, including the development of resources and training materials.
- Support work related to role clarity, career progression, and workload evaluation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Senior or Graduate student at an accredited college or university as of Fall 2027.
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Change Management, Business Administration, Management, Training/Learning and Development, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related business and social science programs.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- Analytical mindset with comfort using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in areas such as student leadership, consulting projects, research, employee engagement, or project management.
- Ability to commute in-person to the designated work location.
Location & details#
- Locations: Minneapolis, Minnesota and Denver, Colorado.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, typically in-office Tuesday through Thursday.
- Start Date: May 24, 2027.
- Compensation: $19.50 to $24.50 per hour.
- Benefits: Eligible for pension, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and holidays.
