About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in New York. You will join the Retirement consulting team to support global organizations with the design, management, and administration of retirement plans. This role offers exposure to real client assignments where you will analyze data and share findings. Interns are eligible for an exam study program, which includes paid study hours and coaching to help attain an actuary designation.
What you'll do#
- Design, fund, price, and manage retirement programs.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs.
- Perform asset and liability modelling.
- Complete annual pension and post-retirement medical valuations for clients.
- Manipulate and analyze data to determine plan liabilities, reconcile assets, and identify funding requirements.
- Assist with plan reporting and filing requirements.
- Perform administrative tasks such as benefit calculations and reviewing plan documents.
- Partner with consultants and associates across the local practice.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Completion of one or more actuarial exams is highly preferred.
- Prior work experience demonstrating technical or client service skills.
- Ability to work as a self-starter independently and within a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Graduation date between June 2026 and August 2027.
- Must have completed a prior summer 2026 internship at WTW.
