About the role#
As an intern in our Air Quality and Greenhouse Gas group, you will work with scientists and engineers on multi-disciplinary projects. You will support tasks related to ambient air monitoring, air permitting, and the development of emission inventories. This is a full-time, paid position based in Mississauga.
What you'll do#
- Compile and interpret air quality and meteorological data.
- Prepare management plans for nuisance dust or odour.
- Estimate air contaminant and greenhouse gas emissions for industrial, mining, and infrastructure projects.
- Assist with air dispersion modelling and the preparation of technical reports.
- Participate in field work, including the collection of ambient air samples and the maintenance of air quality instruments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program such as Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Atmospheric Science, with plans to return to school after the term.
- Strong interest in air quality, climate, and sustainability.
- Proficiency with data in Excel and a willingness to learn new technical tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively, ask questions, and contribute ideas.
- Organizational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in environmental consulting or air quality is preferred.
- Knowledge of atmospheric science, chemistry, and air pollution control technologies is an asset.
