    About the role#

    This internship supports our renewable energy projects in the wind, solar, battery storage, and green hydrogen sectors. You will join a diverse team of professionals to assist with project feasibility, pre-construction, and construction phases. This role focuses on environmental and permitting aspects of development. We are looking for a graduate with immediate availability to work in our Houston or Austin offices.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct environmental field studies, including wetland delineations, protected species habitat assessments, and Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments.
    • Support renewable energy project development scopes while meeting budget and quality requirements.
    • Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze spatial data, create maps, and evaluate development constraints.
    • Author and contribute to technical reports, documents, and permit applications.
    • Support environmental permitting efforts with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
    • Provide technical and logistical support to internal and subcontractor field personnel.
    • Report project status to management and contribute to business development activities.
    • Ensure health, safety, and environmental considerations are integrated into project delivery.
    • Assist in the development of new tools, processes, and systems.
    • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements regarding data integrity and documentation.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, or a related Natural Resources discipline. A Master’s degree is an asset.
    • Solid understanding of the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act.
    • Proficiency in GIS software and applications.
    • Ability to work in both office and field settings, including willingness to perform fieldwork in varied terrain and weather conditions.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel. Knowledge of SharePoint, PowerPoint, PowerApps, and PowerBI is an asset.
    • A valid US driver’s license.
    • Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

    • Locations: Houston, Texas and Austin, Texas.
    • This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term.
