About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will join our Energy & Industrial group for the summer of 2027. You will work directly with project teams to support the design and modification of power plants, industrial facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, and renewable energy projects. This position provides hands-on experience working under the guidance of senior engineers.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development of system designs.
- Prepare engineering calculations and technical drawings.
- Help write technical specifications and evaluate bid packages.
- Review vendor drawings for major industrial equipment.
- Track project progress and manage associated data for project reporting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program for Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong coursework in mechanical systems analysis, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Ability to work independently as a proactive self-starter.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with PC software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is strongly preferred.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is a plus.
- An ABET-accredited degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership in campus or community activities is a plus.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Englewood, Colorado.
