About the role#
WSP is looking for a Geology Intern to join the Earth and Environment team in Kansas City for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms. This part-time role provides hands-on experience on real projects while working alongside senior staff. You will gain exposure to technical, social, and ethical aspects of the profession.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to build technical and professional skills.
- Learn core principles of geology.
- Assist with field work, project research, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare cost estimates, special provisions, and final design plans.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training modules.
- Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources.
- Perform other tasks as business needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, master, or PhD program in geology, environmental science, or a related field.
- Graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company health and conduct policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle screening.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.

- This position is based on-site in Kansas City, Missouri.
- Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
- This is a paid, part-time internship.
- No relocation or housing assistance is provided.
