About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in San Diego, California. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects as part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. The 12-week program begins on May 17, 2027, though individual start dates may be flexible. Please note that no relocation or housing assistance is provided for this role.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to build technical and professional skills.
- Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Maintain project documentation and complete assigned training.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company resources.
- Perform additional duties as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate program for Civil Engineering or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Interest in Civil Engineering and a desire to advance your skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- A record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.
