About the role#
This internship provides experience in the insurance industry through the Business Technology and Strategic Initiatives divisions. You will join an Agile team to help define and prioritize project requirements. The program includes regular meetings with executive leadership and a capstone presentation to share your project accomplishments and skill development.
What you'll do#
- Act as a business owner or customer proxy to define and prioritize user stories in the team backlog.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure backlog items reflect business needs and deliver value to end users.
- Serve as a liaison between the development team and business units to translate product features into actionable stories.
- Break down larger epics into smaller stories that fit within Agile iterations.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure user stories meet the Definition of Done and align with strategic objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in college.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.

- Location: Omaha, Nebraska (On-site at WoodmenLife Home Office).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
