About the role#
The Product Management Development Program (PMDP) Intern role is a summer internship based in Hartford, Connecticut. You will work within the Personal Insurance or Select Small Commercial departments, gaining exposure to product management projects and professional training. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Complete a group capstone project, which ends with a presentation to senior management.
- Quantify how pricing and underwriting decisions impact the business.
- Analyze the marketplace using competitor and industry data.
- Participate in pricing negotiations with various distribution channels, including field sales and agencies.
- Research industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines and product coverage enhancements.
- Collaborate with teams across Finance, Actuarial, Field Sales, Risk Management, and Claims.
- Assist with the introduction of new products and territory enhancements.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel.
Location & details#
- This internship is located in Hartford, CT, and requires on-site attendance.
- The program runs from early June through the end of the summer in 2027.
- Subsidized housing is available for students living outside a commutable distance.
