About the role#
As a Scrum Master Intern, you will join the Business Technology division to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. This 10-week summer program focuses on real-world projects and mentorship. You will work alongside an intern cohort and engage with leadership to understand our organizational goals. You will also participate in community events and professional development activities throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Participate in Scaled Agile activities including PI Planning and cross-team coordination.
- Help the team identify and resolve impediments while managing dependencies.
- Maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog in partnership with Product Owners.
- Coach team members on Agile principles, tools, and best practices to support self-management.
- Use team metrics to identify improvement opportunities and guide performance.
- Assist with user story estimation and forecasting.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and challenges to leadership.
- Present a capstone project summarizing your experience and key learnings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Agile ceremonies and basic knowledge of Agile metrics.
- Ability to learn Agile tracking tools.

- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based at the WoodmenLife Home Office in Omaha, Nebraska.
- We offer a hybrid work environment.
