About the role#
The Human Resources Intern supports daily HR operations while gaining hands-on experience in onboarding, recruiting, and employee engagement. You will work closely with the Charlotte team to refine our onboarding processes and support the development of department-specific training plans. This is a full-time, paid position that offers exposure to the administrative side of human resources within the construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Prepare new hire materials, orientation resources, and PPE supplies.
- Develop and maintain onboarding checklists, guides, and training tools.
- Meet with department managers to document existing training processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with scheduling interviews and greeting candidates.
- Maintain HR trackers, spreadsheets, and calendars.
- Support internship and co-op program activities, including event logistics and communications.
- Help the Charlotte Engagement Committee with event planning and materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Education, or a related field.
- A clear interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
