About the role#
As an IT Co-op at McKenney's, you will join our technology team to support projects and operations. You will work on real-world tasks from your first day, applying technical concepts to solve problems. This role is designed for students who want to gain experience in construction technology. We look for candidates who can commit to two full-time, alternating rotations before graduation.
What you'll do#
- Provide IT support to office and field staff.
- Manage hardware including computers, printers, mobile devices, and rugged field equipment.
- Install and update business software.
- Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity at offices and construction sites.
- Maintain job site IT infrastructure.
- Follow and enforce cybersecurity protocols, access controls, and company IT policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related major.
- Preference for students enrolled in an official Co-op program.
- Ability to work at least 30 hours per week, with 40 hours preferred.
- Strong communication skills to work with project managers, drafting teams, and field staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work efficiently.
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to accept feedback.

- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.

- Terms: Summer 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
- Physical requirements: You may occasionally visit construction sites, which involves navigating active areas and handling equipment up to 50 pounds.
