About the role#
WoodmenLife is hiring a Cybersecurity Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Omaha, Nebraska. You will gain experience with security controls, audit processes, and risk management while working in a hybrid environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of security controls.
- Conduct security audits on internal applications and systems, document findings, and suggest improvements.
- Research new information security techniques and develop ways to automate security workflows.
- Support the Third-Party Service Provider program by performing risk assessments and updating documentation.
- Participate in targeted projects including vulnerability assessments.
- Shadow team members and complete internal training to build professional skills.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in a college degree program for Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
