About the role#
Western National Insurance is hiring a Human Resources Intern for our Summer 2027 program. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience within our HR team in Edina, Minnesota. You will support various departments including Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and Wellbeing while gaining exposure to day-to-day HR operations.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to HR projects and work teams that support organizational initiatives.
- Draft and distribute companywide communications.
- Develop HR-specific training guides and templates.
- Maintain accurate job descriptions by partnering with business leaders.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of multi-state compliance tools.
- Learn about HR laws and regulations and report compliance concerns.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies.
- Handle general clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently or as part of a team.
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with office equipment and computer software.
- Previous office experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at our corporate office in Edina, Minnesota.
- This is a full-time, paid internship at $20.00 per hour.
- We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
