About the role#
Western National Insurance is hiring a Commercial Lines Underwriting Intern for our Summer 2027 program. You will join our team in Edina to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry. This role focuses on supporting our underwriters with daily operations and specific projects that impact our policy writing and agency partnerships.
What you'll do#
- Learn the fundamentals of the commercial insurance industry, including policy formation.
- Assist the underwriting team with projects related to writing commercial insurance policies.
- Help our region grow by ensuring policies are issued correctly.
- Contribute to ongoing projects designed to improve service for our insureds and agents.
What you'll need#
- Completed two years of college is preferred.
- Intermediate experience with Word and Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to work on-site at our corporate office in Edina, MN.

- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
