About the role#
We Energies is hiring a Construction Safety Intern for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time position based in Chicago, Illinois. You will work with the Illinois Safety and Health Team to support operations and ensure the safety of employees.
What you'll do#
- Conduct health and safety initiatives.
- Perform industrial hygiene exposure monitoring for physical, biological, and chemical agents.
- Audit safety performance through direct observation and inquiry.
- Identify improvement opportunities and report findings to facility management.
- Act as a professional resource for employees and department leaders.
- Deliver safety training programs and assist in the development of safety policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma, HSED, or GED.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Public Health, or a closely related field.
- Graduation date scheduled after July 2027.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
