About the role#
We Energies is hiring a Gas Distribution Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. This role provides an opportunity to build knowledge in natural gas transmission and distribution engineering. You will gain exposure to gas facilities, construction projects, system maintenance, and asset management systems.
What you'll do#
- Support network models of gas distribution systems.
- Review and analyze gas asset information including services, mains, valves, and stations.
- Perform updates to data systems.
- Participate in training on the natural gas industry, construction standards, work procedures, and materials.
- Visit job sites to observe utility construction, maintenance, and customer service functions.
- Design and generate reports for engineering, regulatory, and operational requests.
- Assist engineers with capital construction projects.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in an engineering field.
- A graduation date of July 2027 or later.
- A minimum GPA of 2.8.
- Preference is given to students pursuing degrees in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
