About the role#
This is a full-time summer internship starting in May 2027. You will work alongside engineering mentors to support gas utility field personnel and engineering staff. The role focuses on gas design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects. You will gain experience in engineering analysis, testing, and project management while working on natural gas transmission and distribution systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of plans, designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Review road and public works project plans to identify and resolve conflicts with company facilities.
- Analyze commercial and industrial gas load requests to recommend appropriate metering and pressure regulating equipment.
- Update computer models and perform network studies using various software programs.
- Learn how project management applies to the design and construction of gas infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 2.8.
- A High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer of 2027.
