About the role#
ATC is looking for a Civil Design Engineering Intern to support our team of Design Engineers and Designers. You will work on utility projects while gaining practical experience in civil design and transmission engineering practices.
What you'll do#
- Organize engineering records and data for design development.
- Help with material procurement and project design documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings and conduct structural analysis.
- Update asset databases and integrate field markups into as-built drawings.
- Confirm field conditions to ensure design accuracy.
- Review scopes of services from external engineering consultants for alignment on cost, schedule, and project scope.
- Occasionally visit field sites to verify design implementations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering.
- An interest in utility design and infrastructure development.
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- A valid driver’s license.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Pewaukee, De Pere, or Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
