About the role#
The Model Eval team focuses on projects that evolve quickly. As an intern, you will work on tasks that match your specific skill set. Potential projects include optimizing evaluation pipelines for cost and efficiency, improving observability through high-level metrics, and integrating agents into evaluation workflows. You will partner with industry leaders to work on projects that have a direct impact on our autonomous driving technology.
What you'll do#
- Read and write pipeline and implementation code.
- Profile and investigate slowness within distributed systems.
- Build custom harnesses to isolate specific system components.
- Query existing logs and data sources to generate aggregate statistics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Understanding of machine learning fundamentals regarding training and evaluating models.
- Ability to use agents for learning and implementation.
- Preferred: Experience with distributed systems analysis or optimization.
- Preferred: Familiarity with model performance techniques such as sharding, quantization, and batching.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of C++.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Mountain View, California, and follows a hybrid, on-site work model.
- The hourly pay rate is $60.
